Owner’s engineering and permitting for HyCC GreenRoot H2 electrolyzer and 380 kV connection, Germany
To support industrial decarbonization in Germany, HyCC, together with VNG AG, planned a hydrogen production plant with a capacity of up to 500 MW. The site for this project, called "GreenRoot", was selected near Lutherstadt Wittenberg. The produced green hydrogen was intended to be supplied to local industries and injected into the nearby hydrogen core network, enabling delivery to additional industrial customers. Fichtner was commissioned to act as the owner’s engineer for this project, representing and strengthening the HyCC team with additional expertise.
