Modification of a rocket engine test bench for the new engine generation Ariane 6

At DLR’s Lampoldshausen site, tests were to be conducted on the new main engine of the Ariane 6 launch vehicle. This necessitated modifications to the P5 test bench. Fichtner supported this process all the way from the feasibility study until the project completion. In doing so, Fichtner prepared the basic and detail engineering, the HAZOP study, and the tender documents. Fichtner also oversaw the contract award process, supervised the contractors, and coordinated the construction site.
