Development of the ECOWAS Green Hydrogen Policy, Cape Verde Islands

The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) aimed to implement regulatory measures to promote the development of green hydrogen in the ECOWAS region. To develop a regulatory framework, Fichtner first analyzed the various stakeholders, drivers, and barriers in the region. Building on this, the different policies in the region were reviewed and compared to the international context. As a next step, an overall strategy for green hydrogen in the ECOWAS region was developed to help establish a regulatory framework for the region.
