Modeling of an energy supply system with 100% energy from renewables, with consideration to integrated energy

In order to significantly increase the share of energy from renewables in a German federal state’s energy system by 2040, Fichtner investigated options for using renewable electricity in other sectors with the aid of Power-to-X technologies. These included Power-to-Gas, Power-to-Heat, Power-to-E-Mobility and Power-to-H2-Mobility. For the purpose of the study, an energy system model for 2040 was created for the federal state in question. As a result, it is shown how and with which Power-to-X technologies added value can be generated in different sectors.
